Dreamweaver 8

I got the Dreamweaver 8 trial, to make my CSS Motd look nice, since its a .txt that uses HTML.

I want to make a page, all one background color, add a few images/banners and some text.

I tried, and I ended up with an all white background, the banner was from Photobucket, and had the HTML code, which was showing, instead of the picture.
Text showed fine.

Thanks.

Is it easy creating web pages with Dreamweaver 8?

Like, I chose a template, that had some text boxes and picture boxes, edited it, and previewed it. Is that all I need to do?

I just couldn't get the background changed and stuff, like by the text and stuff.

Thanks.

I was going into Page Properties and changing the main background, not the one that is behind the text.

Thanks.

So what are you trying to change?
The background for the table?

Could you upload your code somewhere?

Try doing it just making the code. If you used the editor, sometimes dreamweaver will use weird codes. HTML is pretty easy to learn.

I want to make several pages in Dreamweaver, how would I go about doing that, and linking them. I am almost finished with my Home Page, but I need an Information page, a Gallery and a forum. I can take care of the forum. But I need more pages, and have them linked from the Home Page.

I remember doing something like this with Nvu, awhile ago.

Any other ways to make the pages look nice?

Also, just so I understand this completely, I am using a type of template Dreamweaver offers, and I changed the text it had, and added some pictures, I clicked the Preview In Browser button, and it looked great. If I upload it to my site, will it look like that?
And once I make the page, and I save it, do I just upload a file to the sites FTP and its up?

Thanks.

yes, photoshop,
try to make your design in photoshop and use the Slice tool in Photoshop to cut and then export them as a webpage. It is very easy my mate. you will learn all that stuff.

yes it will look like that. Just to be sure: test it with safari and firefox. Leave IE alone. It has to vanish.

you also have to upload the other folders such as images.
can you please make a screenshot of your your page in dreamwaver and upload it. because I am not sure what you are doing. Did you create just a html page or a "dreamweaver site"?

I clicked New, and chose something like Page Design (CSS) Template, (XHTML) is at the top of the page.

If I can learn some stuff in Macromedia Flash MX 2004, can I make an animated banner, and use Dreamweaver 8 to add it to my page?

Thanks.

Well, I made a page that looks great when I preview in Dreamweaver, so I can only assume that it will look like that when I submit it.

Thanks.
