Driv3r : Worst driving game ever?

Is it just me or does this game just plain suck!? :mad: I downloaded the demo expecting a pretty nice game, but...wow :eek: The graphics, honestly, look worse than some of the older ones! Heavy detail on people and your car, but everything else looks just horrible. Bad draw distance too so things just appear in front of you.

I messed with the settings and there are very few options. Are there more things in the full version? If so, I'd like to know what they were thinking because I was sure turned off by my first impression of the game.

I'm quite sure it's not me, too, as I went to a site(I think it was downloads.com) and found some reviews. One person gave it a five, another 5 or so gave it a 2-3, and the rest a 1! This is out of five...
 
I ordered it from Amazon.co.uk bran new for only 5 pounds (PC) and it's the best driving game I've ever played EXTREMELY high detail everywhere, It's so good it even lags on my PC at best settings...
 
Can anyone get a screen shot from the full version? Perhaps the detail levels are much better there as the demo levels are just horrible!
 
haha cool. i thought u wrote that 3 on purpose. i didn't know games were written with 3 instead of E's now. my fault.
 
i have the game ill try to get some screenshots and upload them. but i was having trouble before doing that. but its a good game the graphics are good i get 20 FPS at 1024x768 if i go to 1280x768 it lags to much but the graphics are good and thats with everything on high.
 
Noi dont, i love racing games, even the old NASCAR was better then that, at least that was diesgned well. almost all N4S games beat GT3, its not fun, graphics suck, control(s) suck. worse then nascar
 
Unfortunatley i bought this game, the graphics are crappy and ineffecient. And VERY CHOPPY when bieng chased by more than 1 car. I would not reccomend anyone to get this game, the gameplay is terrible, and it is impossible to survive in close combat. (For some gay reason it takes about 10 seconds to turn around on foot, and there is no way to fix it) There are many problems with this game, for example the texture for the main character is extremley pale. THIS GAME SUCKS!!!!!
 
Well, I cant comment on walking about because I never got the chance to in the demo. Perhaps they're trying to hide something from me!

Now, the driving aspect of it wasn't too bad. It was pretty realistic and well done. Of course, I couldn't really test it out either because of the demo limits.

I thought the main dude looked ok, but the others look horrible. And maybe it's just the demo, but all the people walking about where identical! And the map was horrible. Very low detail horrible looking trees and such. Man, GTA3 looked much better than this!

I have a copy of driver around here somewhere. I should install it ;)

paired with my home theator system.... all i need is a bigger TV and im set man, i even at one point used a seat out of my brothers 1987 300ZXT and had that thing surrounded by my subs and everything when my buddy spent christmas at my house and brought his wrapped gifts with him (46" Plasma) and ill tell you what, it makes me want to not ever drive for real.... Driv3r looks trashy.... i know games are supposed to be an escape from reality, but when you take a 90 degree turn going 200MPH in a front wheel drive car, thats were i drawl the line.... i prefer realism in my games
 
You know plasma tv's have a 60,000 hour halflife. I think that SUCKS. So, in that time that tv will have lost half of its color

EDIT: I havent played this game in a while, mainly because I HATE IT. I didnt think it had a speedometer, or am i getting confused w/ gta? I know gta doesnt but im not sure about driver
