drive not recognized

Hi all,
I received a new MP3 / flash drive and when I plug it into the usb port on my laptop running windows xp, it says found new hardware and ready to use however, when I go to my computer the device and/or drive is not there. I have used other flash drives and never had a problem. just plug them in and away you go. Any thoughts. Thanks

some players,mp3's nowadays is USB2..go to administrative tools and check if its there !!...if it aint i suggest u do a windows update (or usb version update)..not really sure though if it will work.
