I am very novice at this so pardon my stupid question. I was going to update the driver for a video card on my computer. The website says that you have to uninstall the current driver before installing the updated one. Will this work? If the card does not have a driver, will it still supply a video to the monitor?? I'm nervous about deleting something that may cause a problem.

thanks in advacne for your replies ..

It will just use a standard vga driver supplied by Windows. It'll be fine. Also you can try installing it on top of it, most of the times you don't have to uninstall it, but they say that so there is no complications... but there usually none.

Yes, go ahead and uninstall the drivers before you install the new ones.

When you boot after you uninstall it the display will be wierd looking but, that's normal.

When it reboots, go ahead and install the new driver.

(If you install driver ontop of driver it could cause problems)

^-- Found that out the hard way.
