Driver Problem - External DVD RW

Hi guys,

I have an external dvd rom RW which plugs in via usb. Im running xp and cant find the driver to run it.

The laptop is a samsung netbook N130 dual core.

I've downloaded all the drivers on the samsung website, but still the laptop won't detect the extrenal dvd rom. I've tried a system restore, driver robot software, manual install, win 7 auto install then extract driver (win 7 wont detect).

The external dvd rom was brought cheaply from eBay so i cant fins the model or brand that works. There is a picture attached with some information on it, but i couldnt find any drivers off it.

Any suggestions?

When you plug it in does the system actual detect something being plugged in? You should hear the USB connect/disconnect sound. If not then the drive or cable is bad. Does the drive have power?

All you need to do is download and save the driver to a disk or flash drive then use that to install it to the computer with no internet.Your laptop also can come with a disk with all the drivers on it.

He has internet access on the machine and doesn't have a problem downloading the drivers..
