dsl internet crapping out randomly all the time

anyone have a clue why my dsl internet stops working randomly several times a day? it is stil picking up the modem and says there are five bars of the connection thingy, but it wont allow me to surf. i know if you have utorrent on too much it can cause your internet to crap out but i dont have it on and it still is doing it. i can be on fb doing my thing and the next link just doesnt work....?!!!? i have changed providers and modems and it still does this?? any ideas?

this used to happen to me so much, we had comcast and it would randomly stop working and then we would reset it, u should call your service provider unless if the whole internet for ur other computer and everything isnt working. Give them a call, and usually they will fix it for free or there having technical problems.. good luck

And if you haven't fixed the problem just yet...you sure that the modem isn't overheating?

In the summertime, my dsl modem started screwing me over, but things got fixed after I got a fan to cool it down.

Double-check your settings for DHCP. Until I fixed my router settings to have static DHCP, my connection would quit every five minutes. Now it will run for months without a single hitch.
