DSL speed dropped..

I have 3.0mb/s and usually tests from varying sites show 2.89 - 2.94, but the past few days, I've been getting 1.37 MAX.. There aren't many people living in my area that would suggest them sucking up some speed, and I'm not using wireless or anything like that..

Is there anything that can be done on my end to get it back up there?
 
Your speed depends on certain things. The server you are trying to access might be busy with heavy traffic. Have you tried resetting your modem by unplugging for 30 seconds and plugging it back in?
 
hey, shit happens. Maybe you're isp's got a fair usage policy and they've chucked you on a slower server, who knows, grin and bare it - my isps pretty much taking this piss at peak times maybe i'll got 50k download speeds, but I can't be arsed changing
