dual 12v psu

are dual 12v psu's necessary, evenually i will want to go into crossfire with 2 x1900xt's...will i need dual 12v's or just a good high 12v rail?

Lost of good PSUs only have 1 +12V rail. So you only need one with high amperage on the +12V rail(s). What PSU are you looking at?

With that price, you may as well go with dual 12v rails. Then put each card on a seperate rail for extra stability

i dont think so, my old psu was 24 pin and only have 1 +12v rail.

In that case, you might as well get a real nice PSU like the OCZ PowerStream 520. Its a good example of high end PSUs with only 1 +12V rail.

yea, the second one i don't want anymore, i am wanting a modular powersupply, and even though it says it is, it's not. so i like the first one also.
