dual 260M's drastic fps drop in bf2

I just got an alienware m17x with 4 gb of ram, and dual 260m 1Gb with a dual core processor 2.4 ghrz.

I tested out Battlefield 2 last night, and everything was running at a smooth 60 fps last night with everything maxed out.
However when I tried again this morning, I downloaded a Patch for the game and tried it again. This time I saw a drastic drop from 60 fps to 15-20 fps. So naturally I thought it was the patch and I uninstalled it; however this did not fix the problem, I still get very low fps. I also have bitdefender and I made sure game mode was turned on, but it didn't solve the problem either. The only other thing I have done differently is enable the facial recognition on the laptop, but other than that, nothing was changed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

for a starter, is all sli settings turned on? needs to be on in nvidia control panel and in the game if it has any settings for it

Turns out that it was on integrated graphics at first, but i got the 260's running.
