Dual 4870x2's?\

can any1 find the complete specs of my psu and tell me if i can because i actually have to idea with all the voltages and amps and stuff. Ati actually list a psu 600w as able to support dual 4870x2 which is CRAZY. And tell what rail to run it off (if that makes any sense, i have no idea) and where to plug it in, if that makes any sense.
 
from what i understand, you only have 4 plugs, two 6 pins, and two 8 pins(6+2), so you would use all your pci express plugs, i have no idea how all those rails work, though, so i would wait for somebody else to come along
 
I don't think you are going to be able to do it. Ati recommends ATLEAST a 1000w PSU. Here (650 Watt or greater power supply with one 2x3-pin PCIe® power connector and one 2x4-pin PCIe® power connector is required (1K Watt with two 2x3-pin and two 2x4-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode) With a power calculator I peak out at around 950w's. If you use your powersupply it might put too much strain on it and will shorten it's life.

what about instead of another 4870x2 just thanother 4870? Does it reduce e memory of the 4870x2? (I might just w8 to get LucidLogix Hydra 100 with intel SO2.) Saving up. But really is it worth it at all cause from the bench you gain of only about 5 fps and with tri-fire u actually loose FPS it looks like.

First of all, the memory in your 4870X2 is already split between the two GPUs. It is essentially an SLI-on-a-card setup. Adding a 4870 will not reduce the memory of the 4870X2. It wouldn't really be worth it to add just the 4870 anyway.

Thermal-Reactor is right. It is a good idea to have more juice available to your system than it will need under maximum draw anyway.

Side note: What in the world was Zalman thinking?? 6 rails? Oi...shame on them for handicapping an otherwise decent PSU.
