I am wondering if i could hook up 2 monitors to my computer and run a different operating system on each monitor using one computer. I have two partitions on my hard drive one windows 7 and the other windows xp and I want to be use them at the same time.

Thank you

In order to do what you want, one OS would be a virtual machine. You can't do what you want in the way you want.

It can not be done. At least not easily. You could use a virtual machine on one monitor, but that is not a dual boot option.

In a true dual boot config, you can only use one of teh operating systems at a time.

As everyone said it is not possible. Virtual box is the only option between two based Operating system, for them to run simultaneously on the same computer.

Even if it was theoretically possible, you'd need a good spec pc for it... considering how much power a Windows 7 Virtual Machine can use to begin with!

You wouldn't need anything really amazing, quad-core i5 and 8GB of RAM will power a Windows 7 VM just fine. I know because I did it!

For what the OP wants, virtual machines are the only way.

impossible... cuz you would need 2 mice...

Thats not the biggest issue, Never tried to connect two mice via usb?

The issues is that two operating systems can not boot at the same time due to RAM allocation. You cant have two operating systems occupy RAM unless one of the systems is run virtually through the other system.
