When my computer starts it asks which OS i want to boot. I have Windows Vista on my laptops Harrdrive and Windows 7 on my removable harddrive, i want it to just boot Vista with out asking how do I get rid of the option?

When in Vista, go into System Properties (right click Computer>Properties), then click Advanced System Settings in the left pane. In the advanced tab, click Settings in the Startup and Recovery box. Make sure Vista is selected as the primary boot OS and check the box that says "Time to display list of operating systems." Though since you're dual booting the two, I'd just make the number smaller, like 2 or 3 seconds instead of 30.

Never having used Vista, I don't know what the "Boot.ini" file there looks like, but in XP, for a single boot it should look like this :

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

NOTE : There should not be a space between "Micro and soft - and there isn't one when I edit the file, but this site's software is putting one there when I post.

Just do what Voyager Said, its simpler.
