Dual Booting With Ubuntu Problem...

Iv burned the latest edition of Ubuntu 7.10 from their website.
first cd i used- i burned the iso image to it sucessfully. when i restart my computer to boot from the cd, there is a certain repeating noise that comes from the cd drive and continues the noise and nothing else.
so i thought, why not try burning it with someone elses computer? so i did, same story- but just a different noise.

im pretty much stuck here- need some help

Sounds like your CD image was corrupted. Try either
1.) Downloading it again
2.) Running an MD5 check against the ISO you used
3.) Order FREE CDs here Shipit.

Either a bad disc or a bad drive. Since it messed up twice, I'd test the drive out.
