I just finished building my computer a few weeks ago and i installed Vista Premium about week ago. After messing around in Vista for awhile i have realized XP is much better for gaming. So i have decided to dual boot my sata hdd with Vista and XP. But i have already installed Vista and loaded all my files/games/settings/ect on to Vista and it took me over a week to do. Is there any way to partion my hdd so i can have Vista and XP on it with out uninstalling Vista?

You can create another partition and install XP on it, but you would have to reinstall all your games, programs, and files on the XP partition as well.

I already attempted dual booting XP Pro with Vista Home Premium planned for the second partition. Something prevented installation there. Since Vista is a newer version of Windows that won't work when trying to alter the new boot manager now seen in Vista. You would have to install XP onto another drive. As a rule the newer version always goes on last. Vista and XP Home dual boot when setting the second(Vista) drive here as the first in the order since XP was already on the primary.

I understand that. How do i make a partion without it deleting all the files from the disk?
