Dual cards vs. monster, of same quality

I am trying to configure buying a new computer, and wonder if dual video cards is a better solution than one big one.
2 x 512m 9800GTX vs. 1G 9800GTX


Any thoughts?

Again, the more memory doesn't mean it's better. The dual 512MB 9800GTX's is obviously the best performer.

i would have said get the single

but in the case of 2x9800 512m vs 1z9800 1gb

get the dual cards

heres another Question then, running P5Q pro MB, Q9550 cpu, 4gb kit kingston ddr2 1066
wot would be the differences and better,
2 512mb 8800gt's $400
1 1gb 8800gt $346
1 1gb 9800gx2 $479

worth me spending the extra $79 that i have bugeted for on the 9800gx2?

I personally would go with Radeon 4870x2 but yes, IMO the 9800gx2 would be worth it.
