Dual-Channel Memory

Hey!
I have a motherboard with dual-channel memory. There are two sets of dual-channel slots. Does that mean I can put, if you understand me, (2x2x2)GB to get 8GB of RAM using 2 sets of dual-channel 2gb RAM?

Yes, but depending on your o/s it will only recognise a certain amount of ram and apps on a 32bit system will still only use a max of 2gb unless you switch it to 3gb

That switch is only to make a 3GB user space to each application (if it wants it). The applications together can use all the memory Windows sees.

I know memory works better if they are both the same brand/type, but would both sets of channels work better if they were all the same?
