dual channel?

Dual channel if for both intel and AMD, AMD only uses SD and DDRRAM though, intell can use DDR2, if your system is for gaming i would get a AMD and get DDR400(and 2 sticks)

Hey I have a question with this, is ALL DDR ram dual channel, or only specific types? This actually stems into a much larger question of mine but that can wait till later!

most people like to have two of the same sticks of ram because timings need to be identical. dual channel is when their is two pipes to the north bridge which connects to the cpu. when data is sent from the ram to the cpu, it is sent in burst. timings are made in a manner where when one stick has finished its burst, the other stick is beginning so that data is constantly bursted hence the bandwidth is twice as great. correct me if im wrong anyone.
