Dual channel

Hi

I have an ECS Extreme KV2 socket 939 motherboard.

It has 4 RAM slots. 2 are green and 2 are yellow.

I have a 256 MB PC3200 stick in the first green one, but I have also ordered an additional 512MB PC3200 stick for a total of 768 MB. A strange configuration I know, but I can't quite afford 1 gig yet and want something a little more than 512.

I understand to work in dual channel, they must be equal e.g. 2 x 256.

How should I set this RAM up? 1 in the green and one in the yellow or both in the green slots?

Sorry if this is a dull question, but last time I built a system, dual channel AFAIK didn't exist!

Well I have mine (I have 2 blue and 2 brown) both in the blue slots for dual channel as they're identicial sticks of RAM, the slots will be in pairs, one green one yellow, one green one yellow, stick them in the first coloured slot of each pair. Although I don't think you'd benefit from this as they're not identical sticks.

It wont run in dual channel, you could try the green slots first!
