Dual Core affect RAM??

Does swithing from single to dual core mess with ram? I just installed an Opty165, replacing Opty144, and now i am getting errors with my memory. I can run orthos on just the cpu, but if i do the "blend test" it stops immediatly. I am also getting random BSOD's. I did install the Update from AMD for the Dual core's. I tried running stock speeds 200FSB & 200DRAM but the RAM was unstable. It is DDR500, so I set mem divider @250 with 200FSB I run 225DRAM. But I am still not avle to run orthos for more than 10 sec.

Single core and dual core should have no effect at all on ram. Only thing that would effect the ram would be FSB.

That is what I thought. And since i was using an Opty144 i thought that all my previous BIOS setting should work with the Opty165. Am i incorrect in assuming that?

Does your Bios is it as a Opteron 165
