in reading a post i tried installing amd's dual core optimizer, it keep crashing windows as soon as it finnishes booting. i've tryied everything, i installed the windows patch and altered the registry. i disabled cool and quiet, turned off my overclock, updated bios, nforce4 drivers and amd processer drivers. all to no avail. i even tried running it without the windows patch and nothing. it keeps crashing windows, i get the blue screen with "river_irql_not_less_or_equal"

wtf?????

I'm not sure what to say... My machine's faily similar to yours and it's working just fine. Can you remove the patch and get it working again? Probably a dumb suggestion, but it'd be some place to start. Maybe even just trying to reinstall it. Check to be 100% sure everything loaded correctly.

I just realized you have a 64bit windows. I know the driver is suppose to be compatabile with both, but perhaps that has something to do with it...

well thanks for all the help guys:P
well i think i narrowed it down to driver conflicts with the new nforce4 nvidia drivers 6.86
i already had the optimizer installed on my 64bit os(forgot i installed it) but when i updated my nvidia drivers i had my system crash, so i rolled them back and only installed portions of the drivers without overwriting anything ,and it updated fine.
anybody else have this problem?
