Dual CRT

I'll be going to a computer sale Sunday and poss. picking up another 21 inch CRT (I already have 1). What's your opinion as to whether this will increase my productivity? I'm not totally happy with 1600x1200 on my 1 monitor ATM, I regularly translate documents and would like to have the source on my 2ndary monitor and what I'm typing on the 1st monitor (situation ATM is I have them tiled vertically). I also am working in SAT test prep DVDs and would like to have the DVD on one screen, notes on the other. What's dual monitor support in games like? Keep in mind I'm doing all this on my primary PC that only has a FX5200 with VGA, DVI, and s-video. Thanks and if my post is at all incoherent is because I'm typing at 10pm.
 
you're video card would be worked really hard to render two 21" screens, so I'd say two screen games are out, but you should easily be able to run documents. On a side note, you're 13 and you're already practicing for the SAT? Wow, you're a serious overachiever or something, I never studied for mine, oh and my score went up 130 points after a late night of partying, but I don't know if that works for everyone.
 
Dual CRT's are not good for gaming, especially in FPS since the crosshair is cut-off between both monitors. But for regular work it should be fine.
 
You can easilly run games with two screens, just not the latest ones on high setting's, with your video card anyways.

Also Useing the Nvidia drivers that are on your taskbar thing on the right you can easily and wuickly change the different ways of dual moniter's in just a few second's. For what your saying with doucment's and things, vertical tiling would work well, and then as Geoof said that would prabally be pretty abd for gaming, BUT, when you start a game you could just wuickly change the view to regular Dual View and just have a copy from screen to screen.


One thing That they are GREAT for is Split Screen Multiplayer games, becaue then you just set your dual moniter settings to split whichever way the game is spit and each player has there own screen.

LOL Koko *COUGHstereotypistCOUGH*, I'm taking the SAT thru Midwest Academic Talent Search on the 28th. <brag> I took the ACT last year and got a 31 composite. </brag>
 
yeah, that's pretty nuts, my best was 33, so I think you'll be getting into whatever school you want when you're older

How would that work? Since the picture is either stretched or mirrored.
