dual display or clone?

i have a xfx 7900gs with dual dvi, and s-video outputs. i have my monitor with a dvi to vga converter on one and my 55" hdtv on the s-video output. i also have a dvi to component converter and tried to use that instead of the s-video. my problem is when i try to watch downloaded content on my hdtv, if i use dual display from the nvidia control panel all i get is the desktop on my tv, if i use clone i get the content to go over to my hdtv but i cannot get it to fit right, the controls on making it fit are no help either. Also on my dvi to component converter there are 9 or 10 little on/off switches and i do not know what positions to put them in, i have tried all diff ones to no avail.

i don't know about your nvidia, but with ati cards, inside the ati crontrol center, there's an option to enable 720P and 1080P video modes, and then all you'd need to do is use a dvi-to-hdmi converter ($20 at newegg) to connect it to your tv.

no hdmi

i am using my dvi/hdmi port for an upconverting dvvd player, my cable is component, i also have an svideo and a component port free though. i bought a dvi to component converter but like i said above, it has 10 tiny toggles on it and i do not the correct position for them. i would like to go to my card and enable 1080i and use my dvi to component converter to get some hidef content. all this is moot if i cant get pic to fit right.
