dual gigabit lan connection

Either way, you're going to max out at the gigabit connection. Me, personally, would spring for the motherboard: unless of course you have a need for the USB port on the card. That card is 130$, I'd rather just get a motherboard.

EDIT: Theoretically, it might speed it up a little, seeing as it has its own chip for processing network traffic. But what I'm getting at is, with everything as fast as it is, if your CPU can't handle processing some of the network traffic, maybe a new NIC isn't where you need to put your money. And I would be surprised if you're really going to see a difference between 100 and a gigabit connection if your internet sucks anyway. From my experience, a gigabit connection is good for LANs more than anything.
But, if you're really an enthusiast, go for it.

Honestly you won't see a difference in speed, the only thing that card does is try to lower your ping by prioritizing game packets, which is useless once it hits the internet anyways. Those cards are a waste in my opinion.
