Dual GTX 295s worth it?

I found this and I dunno if it will work but really would it make it worse?....wait don't answer that.

Go to Fallout 3 and Open "RendererInfo" file Look for SLi mode, should say "no" then put in yes and save. This worked on Oblivion for a friend running SLI 8800GTS perhaps it will for you?

BTW Fallout 3 uses the same engine so it will work.

I think FO3 works the best out of all my games. I opened rendererinfo and turned SLi mode to "yes". So thanks for the help with that.

To the people asking my driver version, I have the latest (190.xx).

I dont really know what to do with my other games or why my computer is acting up this way....apart of me wants to reinstall windows and the other part doesnt, because what if that isnt the problem.

Who has Windows 7? And what has their experience been with it? Better for gaming?

Did it actually help FO3 at all though? If so it sounds like the games your playing are not SLI heavy and so you gain minimal performance gains thus lag on your settings with only 1 core doing its job.

It might also to pay a visit to a forum such as nhancer's main forum to see if there are profiles you can enable for your games http://forum.nhancer.com/

Also I doubt while 7 is a BETA still it would effect games that badly since its mainly Improved Vista if anything it would be more software issues but Nvidia is doing well on 7 thus far.

I am betting if that SLI trick helped FO3 then its a issue with the games not running SLI well...at which point nhancer profiles (set correctly) should help a lot.

I wouldnt really say I noticed a big difference if any at all on FO3. It isnt lagging anymore...so I dont really know. GTA seems to be my main problem

GTA:IV has pretty much no increase in sli, in alot of those games a single GTX285 or 4890 would have been better than a GTX295.

+1.
One GTX295 is plenty!
If you're getting any lag in that game with your setup - something's wrong! You've got some program or something hogging up precious power resources... Perhaps other culprits as well.
I'm playiing that game in my sig at max settings, and only ever get a millisecond of lag if theres tons of people on the map and several explosions happen ... and this is with 2x AA and 16x AF! That 295 should be able to eat that game alive!
Keep it until the next generation of cards come out and the next gen games.. then get a faster card or another 295. Just my 2 cents ;)

You shouldn't need to enable SLI when you're only using one GTX295. It's an SLI card in itself, it doesn't have anything to do with the motherboard. It'd only be running in SLI when you add a second GTX295 in there.
