Dual Memory Kit

Is it better buying a dual memory rather than purchasing two identical memory modules?

I am currently building a new system

Mother Board : K8N Neo4 Platinum Skt939 DDR
The mother board supports
* Supports dual channel DDR 266/333/400, using four 184-pin DDR DIMMs.
* Supports a maximum memory size up to 4GB without ECC.
* Supports 2.5v DDR SDRAM DIMM

I have ordered two of the following memory

Aries 512Mb PC3200 184pin DDR 400 DIMM Memory

Does this work out too be 1024 in total?

Thanks for your replies

It should work out fine to give you a 1GB Dual channel kit.

Only reason they sell "kits" is because that way they guarantee the 2 modules will work together in dual channel mode. in kits they test them together for compatibility.

if u jsut get 2 individual sticks, they were never tested to work with eachother. so you're taking a LITTLE risk going that route. but really i think 90% of the time if you get the EXACT same stick of RAM, it should work in dual channel no problmems.

and even the kits sometimes dont work well together, so no 100% guarantee.

Ohh pfft :P They make kits so they can charge a premium ... if you get the same make/model you'll be fine! :D
