Dual Monitor (same model) - Colors Mismatch

2 HP vs17 LCD Flatscreen Monitors
NVIDIA GeForce 6600
Windows XP

I've been using one monitor since February, it came with my comuter. The other arrived yesterday. Both monitors are set to the Factory settings, but the colors are severely mismatched. I've tried adjusting the Gamma, Brightness and Contrast settings on each monitor, resetting the default display in Bios - even messing with the advanced settings in the GeForce 6600...just will not match up.

Is this an issue with the graphics card, the monitors themselves??? Is there anything else I can try. I do web design, so it's important that the colors match between monitors. Am I wrong in thinking that two of the exact same monitors (both new, fairly), should be capable of displaying the same?

Any suggestions or advice are greatly appreciated.

to see if this is a graphics card issue, switch the DVI or VGA cables (whcihever u have). If the color mismatch stays with the same monitors then its not a gfx card problem, if the color mismatch is switched then the graphics card can be to blame. Also, you might want to try one at a time to see whats happens.

Looks the same to me. Still can't fix this issue...

I've been reading that though they're the same model, it is difficult to match them unless you buy them at around the same time from the same batch, meaning their serial numbers are close.

Any truth to that?

As you might know, there are some monitors that have color profiles(well, most any monitor has them today...) Do you think you just have them set differently? Typically they have a few presets, then the custom setting.
