Dual Monitors Lagging

Hi!
I've been having problems with my dual monitor setup, but only when i clone the screen to both monitors. I can't figure out why, and i've updated all the drivers. Im trying to duplicate in 1920x1080. When i do anything in "duplicate" mode its lagging, the framerate is much lower and everything on the screen is reacting much slower almost like a delay compared to my movements with my mouse. Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Professional (legit version) Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7061
System Type: x64 based PC
AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series Drivers version 12.104.0.0
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.4GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 cores, 8 logical processors
Total Physical Memory 15.9 GB
Total Virtual Memory 31.9

Computer monitor is 1920x1080 and TV is 1280x720, althou im trying both on 1920x1080 at the same time because of duplication.

I don't really know if you need anything else but just ask incase :)

Would really appreciate your help!

I am not sure how you are duplicating everything at 1080. If the TV has a max resolution of 1280x720 then when you duplicate, both screens would be set to 720, not 1080.

What are you trying to accomplish? Why do you want to duplicate the screens?

Im trying to make it so that what i have on my computer monitor also shows on my TV. Do you think the resolution is the problem? When i use "Extend" instead of "Duplicate" (Windowsbutton+P) it doesn't lag at all as i've said, so the TV can handle the 1920x1080 resolution atleast

If the tv can only handle 1280x720 than that is all the pixles that it can handle. If you duplicate, the resolution will be the highest resolution that both can achieve.

So in extended your settings will be: pc monitor 1920x1080 tv 1280x720

in duplicate mode it will take the highest resolution that both displays can achieve so: pc monitor 1280x720 tv 1280x720 both displays showing the same image.

Right click the desktop in the 2 different display modes. Go to screen resolution and tell me what it is set to and what the max resolution is when you have it set in extend and duplicate.

This is what I see when i chose "Extend" the left one is my computer screen and right one is TV

I've tried to lower the resolution as low as possible, when Im in 800x600 in duplicate mode it doesn't lag but if I even try 1024x768 (the next level) it's as laggy as 1920x1080. And im bathing in pixels in the lowest resolution so that wont help :P

well that is not what I expected to see. When you connect to just the TV, what is the recommended resolution and what is the maximum? Have you checked the refresh rates for each device?

When i just connect the TV i get the same reults as before

Seems like when i try to change the refresh rates for the monitors when im in Duplicate mode it only stretches to 30Hz OR when im at 1280x720 it actually goes to 60Hz and the lag dissapears! Haha it seems you we're right, but that it still tries to work 1920x1080 but it cant handle the Hz. Seems like the TV only can handle 30 Hz thou is my guess. Any thoughts? Maybe i just need another TV?

It looks like you are right. I would guess that the tv can either work at 60Hz with 720 and below or 30Hz as soon as you move higher than 720. I really wouldn't have thought the manufacturer would have left that open for other displays settings if it would not hit 60Hz on them. Weird.

A new TV might be your only option if you want to hit 60Hz with both displays. Just to be sure I would see if you can convince a friend of yours to hook up another display that can hit 1080 @60Hz. Just to be sure.
