Dual Monitors - question re: location of window in screen

I've got a 22" HD ASUS as my primary monitor - and a 15" old square monitor - as a secondary.

Works great - for the most part - except for one quark that I've been working around since I set up the monitors.

If I drag a window frommy main monitor to my secondary monitor - I have to completely reposition the window in the new monitor.

i.e. I drag window from the top of 22" widescreen monitor - and it shows up on the 15" monitor about 1/5th of the way down the screen.

Is this normal with dual screen monitors - Is this because I have different sized monitors - is this because I have a standard screen size - combined with a Wide Screen monitor - and is it correctable ( via software - or identical monitor dimension - etc ).

Thanks

that last comment does not sound normal. about being down on the screen.
try (1) dragging to the other screen and maximize the screen.
(2) create a shortcut to the program on the other.
another option might be to use some software out there called Ultramon.
its for dual and triple monitors that has never created a problem.

It's because you have monitors of different resolutions. I've had this problem before and I haven't really found a way to fix it.

that makes since. it is possible Ultramon might fix the problem though.
they do a trail ver. For sure it is a big diff in size. i have two 24" that works well though.
learned something and would of never thought about the difference in size.
but for dual's i wanted same monitors.

Me too - but I just built a PC - and was buying on a budget. The 15" was free old part from retired PC.

I'm eventually going to get another HD monitor - either 22 or 24" same resolution as what I've got now.

So as long as I have the same resolution - 22" or 24" monitors should track the same even if there is a 2" size difference?

Thanks
