Dual Monitors

Here's a simple question from a computer simpleton.
I am buying a new pc and need to use it with 2 monitors.
What exactly am I looking for in the listed specifications that will tell me whether the pc can do this?
Is there a simple answer or do I have to research every single graphics card?

Any single graphics card with 2 VGA or 2 DVI ports will work just fine.
