ok so in a few weeks im gonna build a new rig, but my question is should i go with a quad core or a dual core, i read some reviews and the quad core which will be cheaper next month isnt as good as some of the dual cores, id probably be looking into an e6600 for a dual core or the q6600 for quad, which should i go with? id be using it for gaming etc and ill be overlocking. thanks:)

Well, obviously the quad core will perform better, its just whether you can afford it or not. Overclocking the E6700 is ok, but your still not oging to much up to the performance of an equally overclocked quad core (the Q6600). Granted the Q6600 has been dubbed as not very well performing, a bit inefficient, but when comparing it to any same-level dual core CPU, it will almost always come out on top
