Dual or single

I'd say the 7800GT, its cheaper, probably just as good or better, and you can SLI in the future.

A single 7800 gt has more "potential" because you can SLi that in the future, but if you want better performance now, the two 6800 gt will give you better performance than a single 7800 gt.

Ya, dual 6800's are faster than a single 7800 GT(X) but only by a couple frame rates if I'm not mistaken. Besides, I'm sure if you get the 7800 and OC it it will be just as fast if not faster than the dual 6800's. If you upgrade later with dual 7800 gt's and OC those babies (for bragging rights of course ) you'll be set for years.

single 6800gt just because id be jealous of THAT ALONE. anyways for real now- 7800gtx. it has 4 more pipelines (24 vs 20) and an extra vertex shader (8 vs 7) also, its clocked higher. then again, the 7800gt is a very nice card for the money.
