dual power supplies?

but is it possible to run two power supplies? like...one main one for the motherboard and all that, then maybe a second one for the accessories like the uv lights or water cooling or things like that?

Yes, it certainly can be done. The easiest way is to use an adapter like http://www.ultraproducts.com/product_details.php?cPath=12&pPath=584&productID=584 so that both PSUs will turn on at once.
Once you've figured out where you'll put the second PSU the only other thing to think about is the rail distribution. You don't want to put a whole lot of +12V heavy equipment on one PSU without something to draw from the +5V rail, otherwise you'll be in a situation of extreme crossloading.

awesome. that adapter is exactly what i would need. seems like that guy in the write up was thinking the same thing i am, but i'm not lookin to short one out 
BUT...lemme tell you all what i'll be running first to see if i even need one. cuz i'm not sure exactly what to put on what so i dont crossload.
Core 2 quad
2 Gigs DDR2-800 ram
Surround sound audigy 5.1 or 7.1 card
nVIDIA 8600GT or nVIDIA 8800GTX (havent decided on a video card yet, those are just some options i've been looking at)
gigabyte p35-ds3r mother board
thermaltake water cooling kit
couple uv lights
add maybe a couple small accessories like lighting. in case there's more i havent seen or add. would like to get all the right parts the first time around.
i have a 600 watt power supply for all this. think it could handle it? i dont know much about power supplies when it comes to what they can handle or not

Yes, that's the information I need. While I wouldn't have recommended buying that PSU for that sort of system, given that you already have it it should do the job.
If you're looking for an easier way of adding a second PSU, you might want to look at these: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=PS...e1a967d7592ba70e8996862980ac275601d36d3f3ff70 - they fit into a single drive bay and power your video card, reducing the load that's on your main PSU, although I can't see you really needing one.
