i have just built my first dual processor computer, i have never really heard much about them but i thought i would give it a go....

been using it for 3weeks now, i find it much more stable than my older pc (amd 2.4xp barton)

i bought the processors with the L5 mod? to enable them to run together!!

but the problem is its not really wowed me with its speed-i find i can do a few processes at a time-burn dvd, play music and serf net with out a problem but i was kind of thinking it would be really fast.

also the memory kinda sucks pc2100 ecc registered cl2.5 (my old pc was 400mhz)

as you prob can tell i aint no expert but im sure a few of you in here are and i would like you guys to tell me if the pc bellow is actualy any good or just a dud------------------\/

2x AMD ATHLON XP 2.4 (L5 MOD) 2.0GHZ
TYAN MPX S2466
2x512 PC2100 CRUCIAL ECC REGISTERED DDR CL2.5
2x512 PC2100 IBM ECC REGISTERED DDR CL2.5
1x250GIG MAXTOR 18MB CACHE
RADION 128 8XAGP

paid around £350 including case psu etc

thanx

Well it deffinetly isn't considered high-end, but for basic uses it looks like it would be pretty good.

would it be possible to get 2x dual core to work together?
not yet, Amd are developing the 4x4 platform which should allow this

You can put 2 dual core oppys together though!

what about overclocking my processors?

would it be worth it?

processors are usualy running at 34oC to 48oC, just downloading an ebook on overclocking-was thinkin of trying "ai booster"

havnt heard anything about ai booster so i thought i would give the old way a go.....

(fire extinguishers to the ready) lol
