Dude...where's my RAM?

Ok, so I exchanged the Azenram for the Kingston 256MB SDRAM 168-pin with no luck whatsoever.

I've tried switching slots, and every combination out there and the only thing that happens is I get (1 beep - 3 short beeps - 1 beep) and then a monitor error message saying:

Monitor Is In
Power Save Mode
Activate Using PC

From there I can't go anywhere. So I thought it might be something in the CMOS, so I reset it to it's original factory settings and I still get the same result. For some reason, this darn computer just does not want any more memory

Does anyone have any ideas about what else I can try?

if it was RDram you would know. Rd RAM has to be installed in identical pairs. He said he only had one stick originally so that alleiviates that.

Ok, here's the problem...

I phoned Kingston Technology and they said this particular model of IBM Netvista A20i 6276-56u will ONLY take the full-blown, full-priced Kingston part model # KTM 3071/256. Everything else was right, however, the computer wants nothing to do with generic parts.

So now, I'm off to find a store in my area that carries that brand. I'll update with the status once I've installed it (still crossing fingers... )
