Duel monitors, Primary monitor not knowing its primary software wise

My primary monitor is showing as my secondary monitor in my ati and windows settings, and my secondary as primary, yes i know the box thing to click to make primary but i need the actually ATI i belive to realize that it is primary so i can select better resos on my games. (my primary monitor is labeld 2 and secondary 1 software wise)

I really think this is a ATI like problem, but not sure.

Hmm have you uninstalled and reinstalled your graphics driver? Or have you just simply restarted, I find most of the time it fixes the problem. ;)
 
Have you tried dragging the number 2 monitor to the place where monitor one is?

Yes, but then my primary monitor(to me not to software) would think its on the other side and id have to move my mouse to the right to go to the left monitor, and that wouldnt fix the problem becuase i need it to recongize itself as (DEFAULT MONITOR) for resolution in game whys and other things.
 
On my laptop I tried doing what you did in Display Properties but it wouldn't work either. I discovered that I had to open the gpu's own software and configure it from there. (for instance, I had to go to the system tray, right click a certian icon, and go to driver settings and from there I could do resolutions and such)
 
Hmm, your problem is very weird, I have never encountered such a problem before, but my dual monitor setup is Nvidia.

Yeah, i really dont know how they softwareically switched but windows can still say my actually main monitor is main. But it insists on telling me that my secondary monitor is default. I could do a restore point i belive and see if that works, its not a major problem but when gamming since it only thinks that my crappy monitor is the one used for games it wont let me pick the good resolutions that my normal monitor works best at, ****s up my fps and stuff. pretty weird.

Ive all so noticed lets say if i play wc3 and a "tower defense games" when i have better specs then someone it wont lagg for them but with my 2 gig ram 3 gig net conn ati x1300 i lag a shit lode, but if i turn my duel monitors off its usally fine, but even if i turn it off now with this thing all messed up it still laggs me -_-....
 
Ones the dvi and the others agp or whatever, so if i were to switch i wouldnt get as good quality (monitor to monitor its a huge difference) and i dont belive my second monitor supports dvi.
