    Hi,

I was just wondering...my laptop has a intel duo core 1.66ghz and my friend has a pentium 4 3.2ghz cpu... would my laptops cpu be faster than his?? it's not exactly double the cpu frequency is it?

Your laptop will be faster then the pentium 4 cause yours has a dual core and a different architecture which is alot more effiecent then the Pentium 4's.

Bear in mind that clock speed isn't everything. Just because it's a bigger number of ghz doesn't necessarily make it more powerful.

I'm not exactly sure. Since your's is the lowest of the Core Duo line, and his is one of the fastest P4 line. I would say that yours would outperform in a few tasks, and the same would go with his P4.

However yours is a dual-core, his is not. So yours would perform better at multi-tasking and multi-threaded apps.
