Im trying to find the best way to get 5.1 digital sound out of my computer to my cheap surround sound system (Or the best quality if 5.1 not capable), when watching DVD's. I dont want to spend much money, because 5.1 isnt that important, but since im getting a cheap surround sound system, If I can get it working for like $10, then i might as well.

I have a dell, with integrated sound. This is what it says in the manual, "Use the black surround connector to attach multichannel-capable speakers."

How can I get surround with that output? Something like http://www.microsoft.com/library/media/1033/windowsxp/mediacenter/images/en-us/SU_SurSnd04.jpg into coaxial, or http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10229&cs_id=1022902&p_id=1572&seq=1&format=2 ,and plug it into optical. Will either of those allow me to get 5.1 digital? I play DVD's with PowerDVD. Thanks

oops. Please move this to Audio section

So, does anyone know if one of those cords would actually work. I need to know, because my decision on which system to get is based on this. I need to know whether to get 1 coaxial, 2 optical or 1 optical, 2 coaxial.

Mods please move this to the speaker section.
