Hey, i have bought a DVD Burner, with lightscribe fore a few days ago, and it worked fine, before i sat in another older dvd reader i have had before. After i had inserted the new dvd reader i dident find the dvd burner and dvd reader in the system, not in the bios either. I have tried to install it again, i have also tried to change slave/master function, nothing work. And i now the cd burner works, because i have tested in another computer i have, and it worked fine there. I have also tried to use wipe disc. And trie to re-install xp, but since the bios dont find the drive, yeah, you can figure out the rest :P

Did you re-insall the software or dirver? I woul re-install/upgrade the drivers. Also make sure the ide cables connecting the hardware are firmly connected.

I have actully not tested that yet, but i will :D

Hmmm

Sounds like a stupid question....but did you plug in the power cable? Sometimes we make stupid mistakes. Try to check whether there is juice in the connector that you are connecting up. Try flashing the bios as well...or make sure that the IDE controller is enabled in the BIOS.

JAN :D

if it isnt picking it up in bios, then check all cables, play around with all combinations of master/slave, and make sure all cables are in snuggly and in the right way round. like jancz3rt said, flashing the latest bios could help.
