DVD burner not burner at correct speed

hey i was using nero to burn some cds on with my dvd burner and it has a max rewrite of 16x but when i tried to burn onto a cd-rw it's only burning at 4x any insight?

you sure it's a maximum of 16 rewrite? It should be 16x write and rewrite is 4x

i'm guessing that's what it's suppose to be?

Ya sorry my bad I got dvd's vs cd's all mixed up .. damb there's just so much to know about speeds of those combo drives LOL..

Now you should realize that burning at max speed is never a good idea ... mass C2 erors (for CD burning) and P1 errors (for DVDs) are sure to follow

yeah haha i got that but the difference from 4x to 16x is a good amount...maybe just bump it up to 8x or so but there's no option for that

And well worth not burning at 16X (with respect to DVDs) ... 8X is a good balance ... IF youve got solid media
