DVD burning problem...

Whenever I try to copy one of my DVDs with DVD Shrink, I get the following message:

dvderror8ym.jpg

The DVD is about 4.23Gb and when i try to copy it with Alcohol 120%, It goes fine until it reaches the last 20%. After that, the speed goes down to: 0.0x to about 0.2x. I also get a lot of read errors. It seems to me that the disc may be damaged or that the data may be corrupted but I would like to know if it is still possible for me to copy the DVD so that it works well...?

The DVD is NOT ENCRYPTED!

this happened to me when i try to rip a dvd that was recorded in dvd recorder (from tv - dvd recorder). i think its most probably because its not authoured properly or the dvd data not as good as written like retail dvds.

#1 reason would be bad disk, but you could try dvd decrypter to copy it over to your hard drive (you won't be using the decrypting feature as the dvd is a burned one). To see if the disk is bad, try playing it in a dvd player and see if it skips or stops at any point in the movie. If the data that is messed up is not part of the actual movie (extras) you can copy over all that will copy and just copy the actual movie files.

Well....?

I suppose that it could be a bad disk, but this happened to me when I decided to backup a brand new movie that i purchased several days ago; and I haven't even had my pc for a month so i doubt that the DVD burner will have much to do with the disk not being able to backup properly.

weird, but that cyclic redundancy check sounds like it means it keeps reading the same data over and over again, as far as the new disk, maybe another kind of copy protection, but that's just a guess

This only happens to me when the disk is protected. Get AnyDVD and run it in the background with CSS bypass on and then runn DVD Shrink. Or you could use DVD Decryptor if you can find it, but it's been confiscated by the government and may be hard to find. If you need clarification let me know
