DVD burning = Restarted PC :(

Hey guys,

I posted a few weeks ago about building a comp and got it all up and running. Anyways today i brought a DVD-R disc to burn a movie onto (for backup purposes). I first copied the original DVD files to my comp then attempted to copy them to another DVD-R disc.

The Burning im using is Pioneer 109 DVD-RW which i took out of my old comp where i had the same prob. Anyways so i started burning and it got to about 25% and all of a sudden a blue screen came up, i didnt have time to read what it said. And then about half a second later my comp turned off and restarted. While loading bck up chkdsk ran then restarted and i logged back in. (This only seems to happen when im burning with the 109 DVD-RW to DVD-R/RW discs)

I had this exact same prob on my old computer which i can understand cause its 5/6yrs old but this new computer :o the dvd-rw is only about 6months old too and ive not yet managed to burn a DVD disc without the comp fooking up.

So i just went onto control panel to look at the 'Event Viewer' thing on Administrator option and found this at the same time when the comp rebooted - http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/2614/untitled4vd.png

Can anyone help ? Is this the DVD-RW's problem ?? I can burn CD-R/CD-RW's fine its just anything larger then about 1gb on DVDr or DVDRW disc and the comp restarts :(

on our old computer we had a similar probelm the burner would just freeze but could burn anything smaller. We changed the dvd drive and continued to have the same problem.... we still dont exactly kno what the problem is but dont go buy a new drive yet
