DVD burning

Hi, I can't seem to burn anything onto DVD, I convert the files to DVD format but it still won't burn using Nero anyone one why? Or can anyone recommend another format to convert before burning?

What kind of error messages are you getting? What happens when you try burning?

It tells me the burn process is complete but nothing is on the disk,it stays blank.

And what format would you recommend for copying DVD?

Several different things, work out DVD and films mainly. When a burn a cd it is fine works perfect, and I just read in another thread it could be the burner for the DVDs can you shed any light on this?

Yes, it very well could be the burner. There are 2 different lasers/eyes for cd's and dvd's. You could try a different burner to test.

Might want to try a blank dvd with the same color as your cd. Im saying some burners are more sensitive to color of dye. Blue, gray, red etc.

When that happened to me the first time, a restart worked. The following times, I had to replace my burner.
