dvd/cd/rewiter?

hi i no this might sound like a stupid question but i just bought a conputer with a sony dvd rewiter in it an just wonderd if it will burn cdr music etc as dont no if its got a cd burner on it aswell?and wen i put a disk in it says i need the dvd decoder?witch i dont not no how 2 do it?thanks

did you not get a driver disk for you dvd drive? if its new you normaly get bundled some software to enable you to burn dvd's!

and you can burn cds with most dvd rw

no i bought the conputer second hand dats wat i fought as i need the disk burner more then the dvd burner but aint got a clue were 2 get the dvd decoder

you can burn cd's using windows media player, although i am against copyrighting and im not exactly sure on how to do it

yea dats wat i normally use but for private use its just bugging me on how 2 find out with no decoder grrr lol
