DVD doesnt show up.

My computer win98 w/dvd Pent III that I bought a couple of years ago did not come with the dvd disk that I need to make my computer recognize the drive again.. I only used it a couple of times so I know it worked and now I want to use it , it doesnt show up. Is there anywhere on line that I can go to get the information I need. The place I got it brand new at 2 yrs ago cant help me, well they will if I want to take it in. Unfortunately its a Proteva so I can't go to their website.

Any suggestions ?
 
im pretty sure that you dont need drivers at all for dvd drives. do you have a dvd decoder program installed(powerDVD for example)? without one you will be unable to watch dvd movies. what do you mean your computer doesnt recognize the drive? can you see it in your my computer?
