I have been burning dvd's with the same drive for 3 years now. It is a pioneer 16X burner. Now suddenly when I go to burn dvd's (they have all be rw's that i have tested as of late) I get this power calibration error that fails to burn to the discs. I don't get it. What happened? Is there something wrong with my dvd drive? Is it finally dead? Or my power supply perhaps? What?
I just tested it with a cd, and it works fine as far as burning goes. It also did something different than with the dvd. With the dvd it kept trying to "format" the disk. Then I would get the calibration error. It doesn't do that with the cd.
Both the cd and dvd were being burned as data discs.
and yes, my burner can burn dvd rw's both - and +
