DVD Drive Weird Problem

My drive is making this noise when a dvd is inserted.
It continues the noise for about 2 minutes then stops.
If I try to access the drive in windows explorer, it freezes until that 2 minute mark and then displays the drive as an empty folder like I don't have a dvd in at all.

Does the cd work in another drive? If so, you have a bad drive, replace it.

Definately sounds like a dud drive.

Yeah the cd/dvd's are fine. I put a brand new one in actually.

just about certainly a dead drive then. If it is still under warranty RMA it or return it to where you bought it from

Its a bad drive....My Sony one done that,sent it back and got a RMA....the new one has started to do the same thing.

Dont happen to be sony does it?
