dvd driver?

ok so once again another famous noob question i cant find on google!
when you install a dvd drive is there a driver disk that you have to install, i dont see any that comes with a disk on new egg, but i ask this because i have a disk drive here that does everything i want, but no driver disk, soooo yea could i use it in a new system?

Windows will install its own native driver for the drive. No special driver needed. However, if its a DVD drive then you will need separate software to actually watch dvd's or to burn cd's/dvd's..

As stated above, Windows will have a driver already and will load it.

You can download a codec pack like Cole2K to view DVD files.
