DVD Issues

Hey, I have a Philips DVD in my computer, most DVD-RWs/DVD+RWs work on it so i can burn onto them, but these Tesco DVD-RWs aren't being read by the drive, it is saying there is no disc inserted ;/

And I know it isn't the discs because my friend has used them previously.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Pat

dont eliminate the possibility of it being the disk, the brand is cheap and hence the media is cheap you will get temperamental results

your buddy probably just has a nice burner

if you're using the drive that came with your computer (i've never heard of anyone actually BUYING a phillips dvd-recorder) it most likely wont burn the discs.

If you want to use the cheap discs, $50 for a lite-on dvd recorder from walmart is the best money you can spend. It works with a very wide range of discs, and automatically compensates for the quality of the disc with advanced write strategies and stuff.
