DVD Playback: No Video

I'm having a problem getting DVDs to show up correctly on my DVD playing software. I have Nero Showtime, PowerDVD 5 & 6, and Windows Media Player. It runs ok in window mode for WMP and Nero, but I can't get to play in full screen. All I can see is a black screen, but I can hear the audio. For Power DVD I can't see anything at all; window or fullscreen. I have all the latest display drivers. I am running:
Windows XP Pro
Direct X 9.0c
Asus A8N-E w/on-board audio
AMD Athlon 64 Athlon 3700+
Asus Radeon x850 Pro
1GB OCZ PC400 Ram
and with 240GB HD space.
