DVD player help

Whats up guys i just recentley rebuild my comp... and i instakeed windows XP pro... well everytime i try to play a DVD on my windows media player it says media player does not oave codec or sothing along those lines.. i used to be able to watch them fine..... i also got dvix player that dident work so i dunno someone plzz help me... i have the new SEED OF CHUCKY and i wanna watch it hahaha ight then peace guys thanx in advance.
 
If it's DVD, you need a MEPG2 codec. I thought XP had one built in... Hmm...well if you get yourself a copy of PowerDVD, you'd be fixed up, or if you could find a copy of Kazaa Lite's Codec Pack, it has a few to choose from.

And FYI, Divx is MEPG4, so it wouldn't make any difference weither or not you install it to play DVDs
 
i thought it did to... my friend had a downladed ver of XP pro so i dunno if that would matter.. but yeah power DVD thats what i had when i had XP home... but i will try to find it again thanxx man
